historians survey, not a popularity poll. 142 historians score every president on 10 leadership categories, results averaged into one overall rank. current edition is 2021, C-SPAN runs it roughly every four to five years.

897 overall. Fourth survey in a row at number one. Historians in this poll just do not move him.

851. Same spot he held in 2017.

841, third place. Scores highest on crisis leadership of anyone on this list, per the category breakdown.

734. This is the one my students always guess wrong on, they put him lower.

704. Compared to the previous survey, presidents one through nine did not move at all.
