the 10LP set. steep but this is the whole story: Miles, Dizzy, Bud Powell, Max Roach all passing through these sessions.

Thelonious Monk - Genius of Modern Music, Vol. 1 (Blue Note)

not strictly bebop by the time he was doing his own thing but the sessions come straight out of it.

Dizzy Gillespie - Groovin' High (Savoy sessions)

Fats Navarro with the Tadd Dameron Band

makes me think about how different this scene would look if he'd lived past 26. tragic story, incredible trumpet.

Sonny Stitt / Bud Powell / J.J. Johnson (Prestige)

Dexter Gordon - Long Tall Dexter (Savoy)

deep cut compared to the rest of this list, tenor bebop gets less love than the alto and trumpet guys.
