not a life list. just who actually shows up and eats the seed I paid for.

1
Anna's Hummingbird
the only hummingbird that sticks around all winter here. defends the feeder like it's personal.
2
Steller's Jay
peanuts and suet bring them in every time
3
Chestnut-backed Chickadee
tiny, fast, gone before you finish looking at them
4
Dark-eyed Junco
5
black-capped chickadee
shows up in the same flock as the chestnut-backed ones, took me a season to tell them apart
6
spotted towhee
7
bushtit
a dozen of them mob the suet cage for maybe 90 seconds then they're just gone
8
pine siskin
called these female house finches all last winter (learned the hard way) - streaking's finer, tiny yellow wing flash
9
Red-breasted Nuthatch
the little tin horn call, you hear it before you see it
10
Bewick's Wren
11
house finch
males vary so much in how red they are, some are almost orange
12
song sparrow
