Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)

first movie where jason actually feels like a character and not just a twist ending

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)

the one where the franchise figured out what it wanted to be. dream powers, actual stakes

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)

yes this is part 4 and yes it's the best one, this is the hill

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988)

critics were mixed, fans were not, and fans were right

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

quietly the third best in the whole series and nobody brings it up

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)

leans into jason basically being a slasher zombie now. works better than it should

Child's Play 2 (1990)

Scream 2 (1997)

still has something to say about sequels while being a good one itself, rare

Scream 3 (2000)

everyone including me skips this one. columbine happened, the studio panicked, and you can feel it
