馃Уwhat I actually check before it leaves the fitting room

not the generic 'check for holes' advice. this is the actual list, updated every time something slips past me

01
Check the fiber content tag
bought a 'wool' blazer once that was 100% poly. it never breathed a day in its life
02
turn it inside out, check every seam
03
stretch the shoulder seams and underarms
if you see gapping here it's already stressed, it'll go
04
smell the armpits. actually smell them
05
check for pit stains under a bright light, not the store's yellow lighting
store lighting hides everything, learned this one the hard way
06
run a finger along every hem for pulled threads
07
check pocket corners for holes
coins wear through pocket corners before anything else does
08
look at the buttons, original or mismatched replacements
09
check the zipper pull and every tooth
missing teeth is a dealbreaker for me, no exceptions
10
hold it up to a window for moth holes
11
check the crotch seam on pants
this is where they blow first, always
12
feel for pilling under the arms and inner thighs
13
stretch the waistband elastic, does it bounce back
dead elastic doesn't come back no matter how you wash it
14
try it on. every time, even in a rush
the one rule i still break sometimes and regret
