Stalogy 365 Days Softcover

the winner honestly, the thin paper dries in under a minute so my hand never smudges a line

Leuchtturm1917 Softcover A5

lays flat fast but the ghosting means you can't really use both sides, which defeats half the point for me

Midori MD Notebook

Traveler's Notebook (Midori)

loose inserts held by an elastic band, opens completely flat because there's no spine fighting you

Moleskine Cahier

Field Notes

pocket size, saddle stitched, flat from page one (small tradeoff: only 48 pages)

Hobonichi Techo

Tomoe River is famous for fountain pens but it's the wrong pick for a lefty, it takes forever to dry and I smeared three weeks straight

Apica Premium CD Notebook

Muji A5 Recycled Paper Notebook

cheap enough that I stopped babying my notebooks. lays flat, nothing fancy
