the only book worth owning once you're into boletes. keys to 300+ species. (id before you eat, boletes have some genuinely nasty lookalikes)

this is where it stops being a weekend hobby. you need a scope for real, not for beginners.

All That the Rain Promises and More (David Arora)

pocket version, less technical, but still solid on the west coast for the days you don't want to carry the big one

Mushrooms of the Redwood Coast (Noah Siegel & Christian Schwarz)

got this one late, after I'd moved away from the coast. still think about how much easier my first two seasons would've been with it.
