🍼baby shower checklist (the order that works)

planned mine, then four for friends. this is the order that actually works, earlier than you think on some of these

01
Set the date, budget, and guest count
get it in writing who's paying for what if you're co-hosting
02
Pick the location
03
Send invitations 6 to 8 weeks out
earlier than you think, especially for a weekend date
04
Choose a theme or color scheme
05
Decide catered or home-cooked
06
Set up the registry link on the invite
get it in writing which registry, guests will ask twice otherwise
07
Plan 2 to 3 games max
08
Order decorations and a cake or dessert table
09
Assign someone to track gifts as they're opened
you will not remember who gave what by the time you write thank-you cards
10
Prep party favors
11
Pack a day-of supplies kit (tape, scissors, extra plates)
12
Confirm final headcount with the caterer
they want this 3-4 days out, not day-of
13
Set up a photo spot
14
Have a clean-up plan before guests arrive, not after
15
Send thank-you notes within 2 weeks
the gift tracker from step 9 makes this painless

Or start a list of your own. Free, it takes a minute.
