☕Oakland coffee that doesn't need Valencia St's approval

Temescal, Grand Lake, Uptown. Not fighting SF for a seat.

Red Bay Coffee (Grand Ave, Grand Lake)

single origin pour overs rotate weekly (single origin) and there's actual seating, unlike half the roasters in SF

Highwire Coffee Roasters (Rockridge)

Timeless Coffee (Piedmont Ave)

vegan bakery case is the real draw honestly. coffee's solid but I go for the maple bar

Farley's East (Uptown)

the OG Grand Ave hipster cafe, opened 2009. parklet seating if it's not foggy

Modern Coffee (Downtown, Clay St)

further from the Temescal cluster but worth the walk if you're already downtown. they dial it in better than most
