馃帓digital declutter checklist, before it costs you more money

files, subscriptions, apps. the subscriptions section is the one that actually hurts. one in one out doesn't work the same way for digital clutter, still figuring that out

01
audit every subscription on your bank statement, not just the ones you remember
found a fitness app charging me for 14 months. never opened it once
02
cancel the streaming service you forgot you resubscribed to
03
delete duplicate photos
04
unsubscribe from newsletters you only skim
05
turn off auto renew before the free trial ends
set a reminder for day 27, not day 30. they always make day 30 the hard day to cancel on
06
clear the downloads folder
07
log out of every account on devices you don't own anymore
definitly the one people skip. old laptop I sold still had my icloud logged in two years later
08
delete apps you haven't opened in 90 days
09
consolidate cloud storage into one account
I had photos split across three accounts and was paying for storage on all three
10
cancel the gym app subscription you're still paying for
11
clean up desktop icons
12
turn off notifications you always dismiss without reading
13
delete old voice memos
14
empty the screenshots folder, all of it
3,400 screenshots. fits a backpack does not apply to phone storage apparently
15
review every recurring app store or play store charge
this is the one that actually finds money. do this one first if you only do one
16
close accounts on apps you deleted a year ago

Or start a list of your own. Free, it takes a minute.
